Bo Luc Lac (Vietnamese Shaken Beef) is a stir fry done with filet mignon meat.  If you buy filet mignon, most of the time you would think of making a steak or a roast with it.  This dish has quite a bit of French influence, namely with the introduction of meat through their cuisine.  On the following video, we are going to start off in the market to help you find some ingredients, then help describe and cook the meal!  This is really a great meal to make because it is tasty, healthy, and quick.

Recipe:

Servings: 4
Prep-time: 10 minutes
Marination Time: 1 hour
Cook-time: 5 minutes
Cost: $5 - $20 depending on the cost of your filet mignon

  • 1 lb of filet mignon
  • 2 tbps of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of fish sauce
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 shallot
  • freshly grated black pepper
  • grapeseed oil

Directions:

  • Cut filet mignon into 1/2" cubes
  • Mince garlic and shallot
  • Combine soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, garlic, and shallot with the beef
  • Marinate for one hour
  • Stir fry on a wok with grapeseed oil.
